In a recent interview, Archbishop Theodoros Kontidis of Athens calls for pursuing “a long-term strategy” for forestation amid the disastrous fires that have drawn the world’s attention, and warns that a fire, in one day, “can change a family’s life forever”. “I t’s clear to us that we need to change the type of forest we have. For example, pine trees are uncontrollable in a fire, so we need to change and implement a long-term strategy...”.
